Dani R. es un artista excepcional. Lo es por varios motivos. En primer lugar, por la calidad de su obra escultórica. En segundo lugar, porque no le preocupa ni interesa nada ajeno a su arte, ni  las modas, ni los gustos, ni las opiniones del resto de los mortales. En tercero, porque hace arte por el placer mismo de hacerlo, por exteriorizar sus anhelos, su mundo interior.

Dani R. cincela y da alma a las piedras en la comarca de Laciana, realiza gran parte de sus composiciones repletas de sensibilidad en lugares escondidos en medio de la naturaleza, tan recónditos que algunas de sus obras no han sido contempladas aún por el género humano. Y aunque no me lo ha dicho, intuyo que sus obras se acercan mucho a la filosofía zen. Siguen su progreso entre rocas y riachuelos las aves y las ardillas, los zorros y las comadrejas. De vez en cuando algún oso deja su impronta frente a sus obras.

La cabeza que veis en la imagen es un regalo muy especial, por el que me siento muy afortunada. En breve os mostraré alguna obra más de este inusual artista intuitivo. Y quién sabe, si alguna vez os encontráis con una obra de arte en plena naturaleza del Alto Sil, igual no es cosa de magia… o igual sí…

Dani R. is an exceptional artist. And this is due to several reasons. In the first place, for the quality of his sculptural work. Secondly, because he is not bothered for anything unrelated to his art, neither fads nor tastes or opinions from the rest of us mortals. Finally, because he makes art for his very self satisfaction, to vent his desires, his inner world.

Dani R. chisels and gives soul to the stones in the county of Laciana (Spain), where he executes most of his sensible compositions, remote places hidden in the midst of nature, where sometimes they have not even been discovered by human beings. He has not said so, but I guess his art is very close to the zen philosophy. His daily progress is followed by birds and squirrels, foxes and weasels. Sometimes even the bear leaves its traces in front of his pieces.

The stone head you can see in the image is a very special gift for which I feel very fortunate. I will soon show you more work from this outsider artist. Who knows, if you ever find a piece of art in the middle of nowhere in the Alto Sil Natural Reserve, it might not be a question of magic. Or maybe it is…
